SLA Junior SeminarⅡ 04: Red Dog

 Red Dog

Red Dog was a Red Cloud kelpie, an Australian sheepdog. His life was full of excitement and adventure. He traveled all over Western Australia, and never really had an owner. But he had many, many friends, and he always knew where to go for a good meal. Louis de Bernieres collected those stories about his life of a real dog in WEstern Australia. They are all true stories- some are funny, some are sad, but all are unforgettable. Everybody should have a friend like Red Dog. (back cover)

I love gods more than cats, and I have a dog named Santa like a friend. While I read this book, I was thinking of the friend. He is a 15-year-old dog, but thanks to my grandmother, he is very healthy and active, even if his age. Anyway, the book consist of some fantastic and sad stories. And so many persons is related the Red dog. After reading this book, as well as we have own stories of our lives, dogs and cats and all other animals have their own stories. And that's why we have to think and care of them.

SLA Junior SeminarⅡ 03: Tales of Mystery

 Tales of Mystery

The fall of the House of Usher describes the final days of a tormented and tragic family. In The Oval Portrait a brilliant artist sacrifices love for art. And in The Masque of the Death Prince Prospero tries to escape with his friends from a terrible disease that is killing everyone in his land.

It was the first time to read books with audio CDs. In this case, I could read a book faster than ever before without audio files. And I also enjoyed the voice of readers and back ground music. This book is composed by three stories. I think the last one is the most horrible. If you like mystery stories, please read it.

SLA Junior SeminarⅡ 02: A Tale of Two Cities

 A Tale of Two Cities

It was the year 1775. A coach was going from London to Dover. The road was wet and muddy. The horses pulled the heavy coach slowly. A man on a horse came along the road behind the coach. He was riding quickly...

This story is about revolution in France. I'm not good at history and interested in it, so I felt a little bit boring at first, but as I read further in the book, I found out some  heartwarming relationships between persons, including citizen and aristocrat. In this story, guillotin appears so many times and that cut persons' head many times, so if you don't like the scene like that, I don't recommend you to read it.
