Lord Arthur Savile, a rich man who no enemies finds out that he must do something terrible before he can marry. Poor young Hughie Erskine gives money to an old beggar - but the beggar is not what he seems. And Lord Murchison falls in love with a mystery woman - but what is the strange secret behind the door in Cumnor Street? 

There are three stories in this book about ordinary people like you and me, but they find themselves in surprising situations. For example one of the character named Lord Arthur Savile decided to kill a person before he get married because of a fortuneteller's advise. He is a good man and he has no enemies but why he had to kill a person? After reading the book, I feel that we can be murders in some circumstances even if we ordinary people.

The Turn of the Screw

A young woman arrives at a large country house. Her job is to look after the two children who live there, but she soon discovers that there is something very strange about both the house and the children. The longer she stays, the more she feels that the two children are in danger- or is it that the children are in danger, and the person in danger is herself?

Can you see some ghosts? Or have you ever seen then? I have a friend who can feel and see the exist of them, but almost of all people couldn't. The book I read doesn't have the stereotype, and it was written with the stream of consciousness. From that two points, I felt that the book is a little bit hard to read and understand once, so I read sometimes. I've never read such a mysterious story. If you like the kind of the story, please try it, and the movie the story were also published so watch it too!
